The Global Ideas Institute (GII) was founded by the Asian Institute in 2010 as a joint venture with the University of Toronto Schools, aiming to provide intensive research and interactive opportunities for top students in Toronto-area high schools through collaboration with U of T faculty and students to tackle global issues with innovative solutions. The Global Ideas Institute is now an ongoing collaborative program between the Munk School of Global Affairs, the Faculty of Applied Science & Engineering, The Learning Partnership Canada, and the University of Toronto Schools. In this global economy, it is becoming increasingly important for students to learn about the world and to think in a global context. This exciting program provides high school students with the tools, knowledge, and guidance to work through a challenging global issue.
