Cheryl Misak is a Professor of Philosophy at the University of Toronto. In 2013 she completed a decade in academic administration, most recently, Vice-President and Provost. She received her BA from the University of Lethbridge, her MA from Columbia University, and her D.Phil from the University of Oxford. She works on American pragmatism, epistemology, ethics, and philosophy of medicine. Her books include The American Pragmatists, Truth and the End of Inquiry: A Peircean Account of Truth, Truth, Politics, Morality: Pragmatism and Deliberation, as well as edited volumes such as The Cambridge Companion to C.S. Peirce, The Oxford Handbook of American Philosophy. She has had visiting fellowships at St. John’s College Cambridge, NYU, the Goethe University in Frankfurt, and Trinity College Cambridge.
