Member of the Munk School of Global Affairs Advisory Board
Peter O’Hagan is a member of the Munk School of Global Affairs Advisory Board, and current serves as an Industry Advisor at KKR & Co. in the Energy & Infrastructure group. Prior to joining KKR in February 2014, Peter spent over 22 years working at Goldman Sachs, retiring in Dec 2013, where he most recently co-headed the Global Commodities business and served as head of origination and structuring. He began his career at Philipp Bros. in 1987 in NY and Tokyo. He then joined Goldman Sachs in Commodities in 1991 as an Associate, became an MD in 2000 and a Partner in 2002. Over the course of his career at Goldman Sachs, he covered all customer segments and commodities products. In 2008, Peter became the founding CEO of GS Bank USA when Goldman Sachs became a Federal Reserve regulated Bank Holding Company. He led GS Bank, with $110 Bn in assets, from its inception in October 2008 to March 2011. He returned to Commodities to co-head the business and lead sales and structuring again until the end of 2013. Peter holds a B.A., International Relations from the University of Toronto and an M.A. from Johns Hopkins School of Advanced International Studies (SAIS). He serves on the board of directors of World Bicycle Relief and the Advisory Council of Johns Hopkins SAIS. Peter is married, has three daughters and lives in New York City.
