Call for CSGJ Associate Applications
Applications are due May 27, 2026.
The Centre for the Study of Global Japan (CSGJ) at the Munk School of Global Affairs & Public Policy invites applications for the position of CSGJ Associate. This opportunity is open to PhD candidates currently enrolled at the University of Toronto, whose research aligns with the Centre’s mission to facilitate research, teaching, and public outreach on contemporary Japan.
Requirements:
- Currently pursuing a PhD at the University of Toronto.
- Research focus that contributes to the understanding of contemporary Japan, in areas that could support academic research, teaching, and public outreach.
Responsibilities: As a CSGJ Associate, you will have the opportunity to connect your work with other Centre members and contribute to the community in the following ways:
- Attend and actively participate in Centre events, when available.
- Engage with fellow associates and student affiliates as opportunities arise.
- Contribute a brief reflection about your research or activities to the Centre’s annual newsletter.
- Associates may apply for travel funds to present their work at academic conferences or for professional development activities that support their research.
