Diana Fu, associate professor of political science and affiliated faculty at the Munk School’s Asian Institute, has won a 2019 Distinguished Scholarly Article award from the American Sociological Association’s (ASA) Labour Movements Section. The article, called “Fragments Control: Governing contentious labor organizations in China” theorizes the relationship between repression and mobilization by examining the case of informal labour organizations in South China that threaten social stability.
