ABOUT THE SPEAKER
Marcus Böick is a historian specializing in Modern Germany and Europe, with a keen interest in topics at the intersection of political, economic, cultural, and social history. His research focuses on the histories of the GDR and Post-Socialism in Central Europe since the 1990s, with a particular emphasis on Privatization, Neoliberalism and (Post-)Nationalism; he also works on the history of security, policing and statehood since the late 19th Century. Additionally, he is interested in the theory and research of historical organizations. His teaching encompasses modern Germany and Europe throughout the late 19th, the entire 20th and early 21st century.
