Felix Mattis Hautzinger is an MA student at the Centre for European and Eurasian Studies (CEES) at the Munk School of Global Affairs & Public Policy, where he studies post-Soviet Central Asia. His research examines border management, labour migration, and ethnic relations in the region, with a particular focus on Uzbekistan. Currently, he is conducting fieldwork in Tashkent while being affiliated with the Greater Eurasia Research Centre at New Uzbekistan University. Prior to joining the University of Toronto, Felix earned a BA and an MA degree in Music Theory from the University of Music and Performing Arts Graz. His professional experience spans diplomacy, cultural management, and language teaching.
