Preparing Future Leaders in Urban Policy

Students from the Master of Public Policy (MPP) and Master of Global Affairs (MGA) programs participated in the Urban Policy Lab’s Career and Skills Development Day, a full-day event designed to help them build the practical skills and professional networks essential for careers in urban policy.

Led by Professor Gabriel Eidelman, Director of the Urban Policy Lab, the event featured a series of interactive panels and workshops, students engaged directly with practitioners and policy experts working across municipal, provincial, and federal levels of government, as well as in the private and non-profit sectors. Discussions explored pressing urban challenges from housing and transportation to sustainability and governance offering students an inside look at how policy decisions shape city life.

By combining academic learning with hands-on experience, the Urban Policy Lab provides students with opportunities to connect their studies to real-world policy practice and to prepare them for impactful leadership in shaping the future of cities.
