Undergraduate Students Networking with Industry Experts
Twice annually, students from all undergraduate programs can apply to attend networking events with members of the Munk School’s rich community of Senior and Distinguished Fellows. These 90‑minute roundtable sessions provide groups of four to six students with the opportunity to meet three expert practitioners and discuss career paths and other professionally relevant questions in an informal, supportive setting. The sessions give students direct exposure to senior fellows who have worked as international diplomats, ambassadors, deputy ministers, private‑sector experts, and not‑for‑profit leaders.
Before participating, students identify their areas of interest and are matched with fellows who have relevant expertise. To ensure the sessions are informative and productive, students attend a “How to Network” workshop, prepare discussion questions in advance, and learn about each participating fellow prior to the session.
Our networking events with senior fellows have received overwhelmingly positive feedback from students. Each event is followed by a reception, giving students additional time to speak with senior fellows and connect with one another.
"This was a great experience. I would, without hesitation, attend again if given the opportunity. To learn from practitioners and hear their experiences as well draw their opinions on current issues is a remarkable privilege." King Mak, Undergraduate Student
