Katherine MacIvor

Biography
Katherine MacIvor is a student services and communications professional with over 15 years of experience in higher education. A recipient of the University of Toronto Awards of Excellence Northrop Frye Award and the Asian Institute Recognition of Excellence in Leadership and Service, Katherine develops innovative programs to enrich the students and alumni experience, including the Richard Charles Lee Insights through Asia Challenge, the Global Careers through Asia Conference, and the Asian Institute Mentorship program. Katherine oversees the administration for four undergraduate and graduate programs in Asian Studies, with extensive experience in curriculum governance, experiential learning, recruitment, admissions, student advising, awards, and alumni engagement. She also develops and implements the Asian Institute’s multi-platform and multimedia communications plan. Katherine has a background in writing and editing, and has worked as freelance editor since 2008 as well as in house at the University of Toronto Press. She holds an HBA and MA in Anthropology from the University of Toronto where she also completed the Collaborative Master’s Specialization in Asia Pacific Studies.
