Janet Mason

Lecturer and Senior Fellow, Munk School of Global Affairs and Public Policy




Janet joins the Munk School of Global Affairs and Public Policy from the Ontario Public Service (OPS), where her career spanned more than three decades and included various positions in the ministries of Industry and Trade, Skills Development, Training, Colleges and Universities, and Cabinet Office. Janet is retiring as the Assistant Deputy Minister in the Ministry of Municipal Affairs and Housing where she spearheaded significant policy advances in both the local government and planning side of the ministry.

Janet is well known throughout the OPS as the leader of the Policy, Innovation and Learning initiative and Chair of the Policy ADM’s Forum. In these roles, she has made huge inroads in improving the policy capacity and
thinking across all ministries. She is currently a lecturer and a senior fellow at the Munk School of Global Affairs and Public Policy.
