Janet Mason is an Assistant Professor, Teaching Stream at the Munk School of Global Affairs & Public Policy, where she teaches policy implementation and organizes and coaches a number of case competition events. She came to the School after a long career in the Ontario Public Service – leading policy development and implementation in a diverse range of policy fields such as municipal finance and governance, land use planning, landlord and tenant legislation, postsecondary education and housing. Since leaving government she has remained active in policy reform, particularly in housing, participating as a member of Mayor John Tory’s Task Force on Toronto Community Housing and a Board Member and Board Chair of The Fred Victor Agency from 2013 to 2020.
