Dalton McGuinty

Distinguished Fellow, Munk School of Global Affairs and Public Policy


Dalton McGuinty was first elected to the Ontario Legislature for the riding of Ottawa South in 1990, and served as Ontario’s 24th Premier from 2003 until 2013 in three consecutive terms in office.

Since leaving politics, McGuinty completed a fellowship at the Weatherhead Center for International Affairs at Harvard University. He is now the Special Advisor to the President of Desire2Learn, an Ontario education technology company.

Before entering politics, McGuinty practiced law in Ottawa. He and his wife, Terri, have four grown children.
