Applying to the PPG Program
The Undergraduate Public Policy Program is an interdisciplinary, limited-enrolment program that admits a select number of students each year. Admission is based on a student’s grades in the required first-year courses. Meeting the minimum grade requirements does not guarantee admission in any given year.
Students may apply to the program after completing at least 4.0 FCEs (Full Course Equivalents), typically after their first year of undergraduate studies. Students may also apply after their second year and must meet the prerequisite requirements for all second-year and upper-year courses.
Applications are accepted during the University of Toronto Faculty of Arts & Science program enrolment period through ACORN between March 2 and August 18, 2026.
Public Policy is a limited-enrolment program.
What we look for
The PPG program seeks high-achieving students eager to tackle real-world policy challenges.
The Public Policy Major develops interdisciplinary skills, drawing on Economics, Political Science, and other Social Sciences. Students gain expertise in policy analysis, quantitative methods, and applied reasoning, combining rigorous theory with experiential learning.
The program prepares students to design evidence-based policies that address complex global and domestic issues.
