Ashley Manuel is a PhD student in the Higher Education program at the University of Toronto’s Ontario Institute for Studies in Education (OISE). She is also completing a collaborative specialization in Ethnic, Immigration, and Pluralism Studies at the Munk School of Global Affairs and Public Policy. Ashley holds a B.S.Sc. in Conflict Studies and Human Rights, with a minor in Sociology from the University of Ottawa as well as an M.A. in Education and Society from McGill University. Her current research examines the intersection of immigration and higher education, with a focus on the factors influencing the study destination choices of prospective students from India. Prior to pursuing her doctoral studies, Ashley worked in a range of sectors, including non-profit organizations and government.
