Hannah Bliersbach is a third-year PhD student at Leiden University in the Netherlands studying citizenship acquisition in Canada & Germany. Her research takes an interdisciplinary bottom-up approach to examine the implementation and effects of citizenship law utilizing in-depth interviews with both new citizens and street-level bureaucrats. Hannah received her BA from the University of Bonn in Political Science, Sociology and English studies in 2017 and her MRes in Political Science and Public Administration from Leiden University in 2019. She subsequently taught Academic Skills and Statistics at the Political Science Institute at Leiden University before starting her PhD at the Institute of Public Administration and the Van Vollenhoven Institute for Law, Governance and Society.
