Vaishnavi Panchanadam

Vaishnavi Panchanadam (she/they) is a PhD student in Political Science at the University of Toronto, where she is affiliated with the Jackman Humanities Institute. She holds a BA (Honours) and MA in Political Science from the University of British Columbia. Her research is in the fields of critical theory, democratic theory, migration studies, and settler colonial studies. She is particularly interested in questions of territorial and civic boundaries in settler colonial states; the intersection of migration, settler colonialism, and Indigeneity; and critical race theory and the politics of identity. Vaishnavi’s research is presently supported by a fellowship from the Jackman Humanities Institute, as well as other awards. Currently, Vaishnavi is a researcher on the UofT research team for Bridging Divides– a Government of Canada funded research project seeking to explore the challenges and possibilities for migrant integration in Canada.
