Event Report: 2023 US-Japan Women Leaders Dialogue

Meeting at Capitol Hill Women in STEM Roundtable

On September 14th, 2023, Professor Rie Kijima participated in a roundtable discussion hosted by the Japan Centre for International Exchange (JCIE) as part of the US-Japan Women Leaders Dialogue program. This event focused on recommendations for educational reform, particularly emphasizing increasing access to STEM education from K-12 levels and expanding into higher education and the workforce. Professor Kijima, the Director of the Initiative for Education Policy and Innovation at the Munk School of Global Affairs, presented suggestions for STEM access reforms. The roundtable, comprised of accomplished women in prominent positions across government, academia, and the private sector, produced concrete recommendations and outlined collaborative strategies to achieve these goals.
