The East Asia Seminar Series brings leading scholars, policy leaders, public intellectuals, writers and thinkers in conversation. The goal is to promote expert-led dialogue on the world’s most pressing issues in the region.
From technological competition, soft power, security threats, and popular contention to Canada’s role in the Indo-Pacific, the series traverses multiple domains. Along with the Asian Institute’s other public events, the series bridges academia with the outside world, bringing a deeper and more contextualized understanding of Asia to the Canadian public and beyond. In a divisive world inundated with disinformation, the series engages those who wish to think and converse beyond the twitter-sphere.
