'We're not very glamourous people!': Toronto-based producers on premiering two projects at the Cannes Film Festival
Recently featured on CBC Metro Morning in an interview titled "'We're not very glamourous people!': Toronto-based producers on premiering two projects at the Cannes Film Festival," Elizabeth Wijaya and Weijei Lai are headed to the French Riviera to see not one, but two films debut at Cannes.
Wijaya, Director of the Southeast Asia Seminar Series at the Asian Institute and an Assistant Professor in U of T Mississauga’s Department of Visual Studies, and Lai, a Cinema Studies Instructor at UTM, co-founded the company, E&W Films, that led the production of Mongrel, which is set to premiere as part of the Director’s Fortnight, an independent section that runs in parallel to the Cannes Film Festival and is organized by the French Directors’ Guild.
