With over 1,000 Master of Public Policy (MPP) alumni working across Canada and around the globe, Munk School graduates are leading change and shaping policy in diverse and dynamic roles. From government and the broader public sector to nonprofits and the private sector, our alumni are making meaningful contributions and advancing the public good across sectors.
- Employment by Sector: Most MPP alumni are employed across all levels of government within Canada, with additional representation in the private sector, nonprofit organizations, think tanks, international organizations, and consulting.
- Job Function: A majority of alumni are engaged in policy development, with a growing presence in leadership and program administration roles—demonstrating the program’s emphasis on applied, real-world policy work.
- Policy Areas of Focus: Alumni careers span a wide range of policy fields, including health, finance, social policy, municipal affairs, and energy & environment. Many also work in cross-cutting roles focused on strategy, governance, or interdisciplinary issues.
- Geographic Reach: While the vast majority of alumni remain in Canada, MPP graduates are also making an impact internationally, working in countries such as the United States, United Kingdom, France, and China, as well as in global institutions.
