In academic and government positions, Allison has worked on energy and environmental policy. She specializes in technical, social, and policy aspects of nuclear energy production, waste management, and disposal as well as regulation, nuclear nonproliferation, and energy policy. She has served on the White House Blue Ribbon Commission on America’s Nuclear Future (2010-12) and as chair of the U.S. Nuclear Regulatory Commission (2012-14).
