Professor Claudia Wagner-Riddle is an environmental science researcher with a focus on mitigating greenhouse gas emissions from agricultural systems. Growing up in Brazil, she witnessed the devastating effects of frost on coffee plantations and the subsequent soil erosion caused by replacing them with annual crops like soybeans and corn. This sparked her interest in soil management and agriculture. After completing her bachelor’s degree, Prof. Wagner-Riddle worked in Germany, studying soil erosion, which inspired her to pursue graduate research. Today, she is renowned for her work in sustainable agriculture, particularly in reducing the environmental impacts of farming. Through her research, she aims to develop practical solutions for minimizing greenhouse gas emissions while ensuring agricultural productivity. Prof. Wagner-Riddle's expertise has made her a leading figure in environmental science, and she continues to contribute significantly to advancing global strategies for sustainable agricultural practices.
