Biography
Nasreen Basheer
Nasreen Basheer is a Master of Public Policy candidate at the University of Toronto, completing an emphasis in Economics for Public Policy. She holds a master’s in international development from the University of Edinburgh and has previously worked in India’s development sector. Her past research has examined women’s experiences in the platform economy, intersectional inequalities faced by immigrant women in Canada, and the spatial dimensions of gender inequality in India. Broadly, her research interests focus on gender and labor-market equity, with particular attention to how a digital future of work will shape labor-market opportunities for marginalized communities.
