Biography

Main Bio

Peter Morrow is an Associate Professor in the Department of Economics. His field of research is international economics with a focus on international trade. His current research focus is on the effects of international trade on worker and firm outcomes using Canadian micro data. He has also completed research on the determinants of comparative advantage, the expansion of trade from China, and how infrastructure investment affects patterns of trade.  

His work has been published in peer-reviewed journals including the Canadian Journal of Economics, the Journal of Development Economics, the Journal of International Economics, the Journal of Public Economics, and the Review of Economic Studies. He is currently a co-editor at the Canadian Journal of Economics in charge of submissions related to International Trade. His research has been supported by the Social Science and Humanities Research Council as well as Statistics Canada.  

Professor Morrow received undergraduate degrees in Economic and Latin from Boston College in 1998. Before graduate school, he worked as a Senior Research Associate at the Federal Reserve Bank of Boston. He earned his Ph.D. from the University of Michigan in 2007 since which time he has been at the University of Toronto.
