Biography

Ron Saporta is the Chief Operating Officer at the University of Toronto, with over 20 years of experience in business operations, redevelopment and facilities in healthcare and higher education. A professional engineer, he holds a Bachelor and Master of Civil Engineering from the University of Waterloo and an MBA from the University of Toronto’s Rotman School of Management.  

Passionate about sustainability, Ron spearheaded the development of the St. George Campus’ Climate Positive Strategy and a partnership to secure financing for Project Leap, initiatives that played a key role in the University of Toronto being named the most sustainable university in the world in 2024 and 2025. 

The recipient of many awards for his transformative leadership, in 2022 Ron was named a Canada’s Clean16 honouree.
