Val Steinmann

Val Steinmann and Brent Klassen are the visionary co-owners of Heartwood Farm & Cidery, a 42-acre diversified, ecological farm that integrates multi-species grazing with fruit and nut orchards, bee hives, maple syrup production and is also home to a growing craft beverage business. We practice Regenerative Agriculture by nurturing biodiversity, working with the natural behaviours of our livestock to build soil health and increase the effectiveness of water and carbon cycles. In addition, we offer farm-based experiences that welcome hundreds of visitors to the farm each year - experiences in the form of tours, retreats, and overnight farm stays. In everything we do, we try to re-connect people to landscape, to plants and animals, and to each other, finding inspiration in the ecological patterns evident throughout the farm.
