The CARE Conference will be hosted by the Munk School of Global Affairs and Public Policy in Toronto from March 2nd-4th, 2025. It will bring together students and faculty from the CARE partner institutions as well as experts from the public and private sectors to address the conference theme: “Integrated Approaches to Climate Change: Adaptation and Mitigation”. Topics will include: the energy transition, local projects/approaches, and agriculture. Conference attendees will have the opportunity to attend panel discussions, engage in field experiences and network at social events.
A limited number of spots are available for University of Toronto students to attend this conference. Graduate students enrolled in a Master's Program within the Faculty of Arts & Science at the University of Toronto are eligible to apply. Application information has been distributed through academic departments. The anticipated structure of the conference can be found below, finalized details will be shared with attendees in February.
- Sunday March 2nd, 4pm-6pm: Evening Welcome Reception in Toronto
- Monday March 3rd, 8am-6:30pm: Expert panel sessions on the future of fossil fuel, challenges of electrification and local approaches to adaptation and mitigation, UofT campus energy tour, student poster presentations & reception
- Tuesday March 4th: 7:30am-7pm: Participants will take part in field experiences at Guelph University focused on: regenerative agriculture practices, greenhouse gas reduction in the dairy industry, and soil health (transportation will be provided).
