The Department of Political Science and the Munk School of Global Affairs & Public Policy, in Collaboration with the Embassy of Canada in Washington, the International Democratic Forum (National Endowment for Democracy), and the Donner Canadian Foundation hosted the twentieth annual Seymour Martin Lipset Lecture on Democracy in the World.
 
This lecture Power, Performance, and Legitimacy: Renewing Global Democratic Momentum, was delivered by Larry Diamond, Mosbacher Senior Fellow of Global Democracy at the Freeman Spogli Institute for International Studies and Senior Fellow at the Hoover Institution, Stanford University and Founding Coeditor, Journal of Democracy.
