Tim Mak is the founder of The Counteroffensive, a twice-weekly journalism publication that focuses on deeply-reported human interest stories to tell news of the war in Ukraine.  He's a former correspondent for NPR, The Daily Beast and Politico; he's also the author of a book on the inner workings of the National Rifle Association, "Misfire" - it's been optioned for use in a feature film. Uniquely, Mak also has a military background. He's a former U.S. Army combat medic, serving as a soldier in the West Virginia Army National Guard for five years
