Dr. Connie Carter is an accomplished business leader with over 25 years of managerial and advisory experience in the pharmaceutical, legal and technology industries. Following a career with multinational corporations in Denmark and the UK, Connie lived and worked in Xiamen, China, where she served as public affairs and HR director at a German-owned company manufacturing forklift trucks. 

In 2006, she moved to Canada to oversee care of her mother who was diagnosed with Alzheimer’s disease. In 2007, Connie joined Royal Roads University in Victoria, BC, as a law professor and MBA program director. She taught business law at RRU for ten years, and later served as a visiting professor, trainer and strategic consultant at universities, companies and trade associations across Europe and Asia.

Her expertise spans business development, human factors engineering, marketing strategy, corporate culture, corporate governance and regulatory compliance, privacy and data protection, corporate social responsibility, HR, legal counselling and enterprise risk management across multiple business domains.

A former barrister-at-law, Connie was called to the Bar at Lincoln’s Inn, London, with specialisms in International Trade and Intellectual Property. She holds a PhD in law from the University of London School of Oriental & African Studies (SOAS). 

She is a member of the International Bar Association and the International Association of Privacy Professionals.
