Kate Manson-Smith joins the Munk School following more than two decades in the Ontario Public Service.  As Deputy Minister of the Ontario Ministry of Education, Kate worked towards transforming and improving the education and childcare sectors to better support and serve Ontario’s educators, students, families and children. This included work on the implementation of the Canada-Ontario child care agreement, accelerated apprenticeship pathways and building schools faster. Prior to joining the Ministry of Education, she served as Deputy Minister of Municipal Affairs and Housing and numerous executive roles within the OPS, including Assistant Deputy Minister of the Local Government and Planning Policy Division at the Ministry of Municipal Affairs and Housing, Assistant Deputy Minister of Health Promotion of the Ministry of Health and Long-term Care and roles at Cabinet Office and the Ministry of Community Safety and Correctional Services. Kate holds a Masters in Public Administration from Queen’s University.
