Biography

Ludovic Rheault is Associate Professor in the Department of Political Science, where he teaches Canadian politics and quantitative research methods. He received his PhD from the University of Montreal in 2013. Before joining the Department, Dr. Rheault was a visiting scholar at the University of California, Riverside. His current research focuses on applications of methods from the fields of natural language processing and machine learning to the study of social science problems. He is interested in the advancement of methodologies for the analysis of large collections of political texts and social network data. Prof. Rheault has been involved in the LiPaD project, aiming at the digitization of historical parliamentary debates in Canada (www.lipad.ca). His work has been published in PLoS ONE, the Journal of Public Policy, Political Research Quarterly and the Canadian Journal of Political Science.
